MISCONDUCT OF ETHICAL ISSUES IN HR

What do you mean by unethical behavior?
-An action that falls out of what's morally right for a person when it comes on choosing between his profession and his self interest or greed which further causes breakdown of trust.

An organization for it's better functioning rely completely and fully on HR department on recruiting, hiring and training the appropriate employees effectively. Any type of ethical misconduct done by HR division can have legal consequences for the business if it's left undetected. The main problem starts when the HR Manager start to think for it's own benefit ratgra than the company's he is working in.

There are various ways of violating the company's policies for own interest like-

1. Acceptance of payoffs: The HR employees accepts payment from the job seekers so that they can get selected in the hiring process without having the more potentiality than the actually deserved candidates which represents the ethical misconduct and because of this people with maximum potential lack behind. Instead of doing all this, the HR professional should hire the employees with maximum qualification without the expectation of money.

2. Discrimination done in hiring the employees: In this context, the discrimination is done on the basis of race, sex, gender, religion which can lead in damaging the organization too, which can also be costly to defend. Discrimination can also harm the reputation of your business leading to downfall, lost in revenue generation and potential of the business.
- This is the duty of HR Manager to recruit people on basis of the qualifications, their skills and not on their personal issues or relationship with the people. And if not done this way can again lead to fall in business and damaging it too. It's a well said that " the relationship already known or having are typically not the well- kept secret.

3. Leakage of the personal information: Files relates to HR should always be kept secured and secretly. It should only be used for the business purposes and should be kept in secured and safe location. Sharing the personal information of the business with anyone let it be outside or inside is again an ethical misconduct. There should be understanding of confidentiality to every HR Managers.

All this lead to violating company policies. Some policies considered unethical for example:
1. Impersonate salaries: The word impersonate means the alteration of one's appearance to take on someone's identity. This happens mostly during recuritment process, where the people are promised to get the salary packages upto their requirements so as to get hired and after joining in a month salaries paid is lesser than what was promised than the one said in the starting.

2. Policies related to training: Training and Development is the core function of the HR department. To work this program effectively and efficiently, needs a strategic process and correct way of implementing as it costs money and precious time as well and when this program does not work well it loses its relevance and importance in employees mind and they started taking this for granted which is again a big damage to organization.

So, there should be correct flow of all the policies with HR and the employees within it. Greater heights can also be achieved through ethical means as well.
